Thanks for your comment! 1) I didn’t make up Lover’s Knoll — it’s literally a point on Google Maps you can get directions to ASAP, but sure, someone made it up. 2) With a quick Google search, “vortexes” and “vortices” are both grammatically correct plural forms of vortex — you taught me something new today! 3) I have lived in Arizona for 15 years and part of that was in Sedona. Additionally, if you didn’t enjoy something in the itinerary and wanted to give “better” suggestions as a “real” local, totally welcome. Maybe you just had a bad day today or whatever, none of my business, but “dumbing down” and “dealing with a tourist” “ask a real local” are all surefire ways to make sure no one respects the unique perspective you DO have as a 25-year local because you just sound salty and entitled for the sake of it. And yes, this is a blog…for people visiting Sedona…AKA tourists. Life’s not that serious lmao… Hope you have a better day!

Wow. I’ve been living in Sedona 25 years and never heard of Lovers knoll. Sometimes tourist just make up names of rocks, places. You know you’re dealing with a tourist when they don’t know the plural of vortex is VORTICES. The dumbing down continues…. Hope you enjoyed your stay, but if you’re looking for the best places in Sedona, ask a local. A real one.

#5 Sleepy Hollow Farm will soon be off limits to tourists due to absolute overcrowding during foliage with cars parked on private property, driveways blocked and emergency vehicle inability to access. The road will be gated and patrolled so take this gem off of your must see list

Sedona is beautiful! A friend and I attempted the Red River Crossing Sunset hike and it was not as expected. We followed Verde Valley Road down to the creek, but the trail was not clear on the map, and Red rock river crossing was not where the instructions said it was. The places were on the wrong side of the river, and they were on the wrong side of the rock to view the sunset over the rock. You could not even see Cathedral rock from the end point. There were places along the trail that provided a good view of Cathedral Rock, but the sun was setting behind us and not the rock. Pretty hike, but not for sunset.

The Outrider Rooftop Lounge does NOT have happy hour. We went there to have happy hour drinks and food based on the “10 Best Old Town Scottsdale Happy Hour Spots for Stellar Drinks & Bites” by “Dani the Explorer”. I recommend that Dani remove the Outrider Rooftop Lounge from this list so that others are not surprised to find no happy hour and instead have pricey (but good tasting) drinks and food.

As of 9/3/22, parking on the roadside is common again. I work just down the road and pass this spot 10 or more times a week. Easy hike as long as you have some traction on your shoes (I wore the wrong shoes the first time -LOL!). The last bit is fairly steep but easy to hike. Lots of prickly pear along the last bit of the hike, that’s why I recommend shoes with traction. Great view from the cave.

Thanks so much for this article. You’ve explained everything so well I have shared your post with some friends and colleagues who regularly ask me for tips and advice. I have 28K followers and have been doing most of the things you mentioned for a while now. My engagement since late last year has been very unstable.

My August strategy was to post 2 reels a week and while I saw a big increase in my reach and followers, everything dropped again after 2 weeks. Even the reel views. I’m wondering if there’s something to “overusing” reels that the algorithm then starts ‘penalising’ you for? I love creating content, and I know it helps my audience. It feels like it’s getting harder and harder to reach them, even though they follow me.

Generally speaking, it’s much more pleasurable to spend than to save. If saving was easy, we’d never have to read another story again about a multimillionaire who ended up broke.

Sounds nice right? If only there was a formula or a chart like the 401k by age chart which gives people guidance on how much to save and for how long in order to reach financial freedom. Unfortunately, saving money is only the first step in hedging you against inflation. Figuring out how to properly invest your savings is even more important.
If you can max out your 401k or max out your IRA and then save an additional 20%+ of your after-tax, after-retirement contribution, good things really start to happen. In reply to Brenda Cisneros. Hey Brenda! Thanks so much for being here and taking part in the convo. I want to make something clear, you don't have to add crazy colors to your feed! Colorgrading can also mean having images of a similar tone (like the blacks, whites and contrast are the same) while still looking more natural. There are some nature photographers out there that I believe do a great job with the natural look and you can always tell which photos are their's because the tones are similar. I hope this helps!

They're often spam and come from bot accounts that might not be following you anyways and likely never will. I typically delete those kinds of messages and focus on replying to the ones that I can tell come from people who care!

Hey, I’m sorry you feel that way but this isn’t a load of BS. I’ve been working my ass off to grow my social media business for two years. These ARE the things I’ve been doing. There’s no magic formula. If you want to grow on Instagram, you have to both post good content and play the game, which includes showing up, analyzing what’s working/ what isn’t working and going from there. If something isn’t personally working for you, you can’t just come in here and say that what I’m advising is bullshit. I would have been happy to take a look at your account and offer a bit of help, but not with that attitude.

Devil’s Bridge was my favorite hike. Looking at pictures I thought the bridge was very narrow, however getting there I was surprised at how wide it actually was! One guy hung off the side and scared the living daylights out of me! ….he lived.

In reply to Joselyn. Too hot is subjective. Bring plenty of water, a hat, sun glasses, and sunscreen and proper clothing and you should be fine provided you are fit and healthy enough for a given hike.

Great post! What is the formula for the base price for stories ? I recently worked with a brand that said they wanted one Instagram post and one story. The story turned out to be 3 slides, each with a different swipe up. Is it normal that a brand would say one story and expect multiple slides?

In reply to Mandy Gommerud. Hi Mandy! Great question. I recommend going to "Jordan Trail". To my knowledge, Jordan Trail doesn't have a gate. It also offers a more scenic view of the entire area. You can always call the visitors center and check on this just in case. In the past, I was able to go through Jordan trail for sunrise!

Hey! Question for you – the Soldier’s Pass gate apparently doesn’t open until 8am – did you go at sunrise anyway? Were you able to get past the gate? We’re planning on sunrise this Saturday. Thanks!
